OEHS Students Show Support for Plainfield North Community

Oct 27, 2015 08:57AM ● Published by Steven Jack

Oswego East High School students Hallie Haaker and Anna Seuser (first row, from left) recently joined area high school students in displaying a banner supporting the Plainfield North High School community following the tragic death of teacher Sue Cunningham.

Cunningham was a much-loved PNHS PE and health teacher who was fatally stabbed Tuesday, Oct. 20, in her home. Plainfield Police have said the lone suspect is her husband, Craig Cunningham, who apparently killed himself just hours later by stepping in front of an oncoming semi along Interstate 55.

Sue Cunningham was currently on leave from her job as she fought cancer.

The banner of support for PNHS was created by students attending last Friday’s Southwest Prairie Conference Leadership Summit, which was hosted by Romeoville High School.
