Kids Connection Students Send Greetings to the Troops

The children at the Grande Park Elementary Kids Connection after school program recently helped provide a little support for troops serving overseas.

The kids made Veterans Day cards as part of the 10,000 for the Troops initiative organized by the Lisa Dent and Ramblin' Ray radio show on US 99.5. The goal is to collect and send 10,000 greeting cards for service men and women serving overseas during the holidays. At last count, about 9,800 cards had been collected in a little over a week.

"It is the hope of all the children and Kids Connection staff at Grande Park that these cards bring our troops and Veterans some joy and happiness at this holiday time," said Kristen Fanaro,
Kids Connection Supervisor.
