Oswego residents could soon have a new spot to satisfy their cravings for a frozen treat.
Andy’s Frozen Custard is looking to build a new location in front of LA Fitness at the southwest corner of Route 34 and Ogden Falls Boulevard, Village of Oswego Economic Development Director Vijay Gadde said.
Andy’s offers cold treats, including frozen custard, sundaes, shakes, malts and concretes. The chain currently has five locations in Illinois, including restaurants in Bolingbrook, Oak Lawn and Evanston.
Local developer GMX Ogden Falls LLC’s proposal to build the frozen custard shop is set to go before the village’s planning and zoning commission on Dec. 10. The planned unit development is scheduled to go to the Village Board for approval in January, Gadde said.
If the approval process goes smoothly, construction on Andy’s Frozen Custard could begin this spring, Gadde said.
