Boulder Hill Gas Station Robbed

Dec 31, 2015 09:54AM ● Published by Steven Jack

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a second armed robbery of an area gas station in recent days.

According to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Michael Mrozek, two men entered the Marathon Gas Station at Route 25 and Boulder Hill Pass at about 4:20 a.m. Thursday armed with screw drivers and demanding cash. They were able to get away with an undetermined amount of money, he said.

The men were described as wearing all black clothing with masks. The gas station clerk was not injured in the robbery, Mrozek said, and officers from both the Oswego and Montgomery police departments responded to the scene.

This is the second armed robbery in the area since Dec. 23 when the Gas Mart USA gas station at 2501 Light Road was held up at gunpoint. Mrozek said it is still undetermined whether the two are related.

"We are continuing to investigate both incidents at this time," he said.

Mrozek said investigators are also reviewing video surveillance footage from both incidents.

The Sheriff's Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspects, and any tips or information can be directed to detectives@co.kendall.il.us, or (630) 553-5856. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can contact the Kendall County Crimestoppers at (630) 553-5999.
