Oswego Police Seeking Suspects in Subway Theft

Oswego Police are seeking two suspects who reportedly robbed a Subway restaurant early Friday evening.

Spokewoman Cathy Nevara said two men wearing masks entered the restaurant at 342 Douglas Road at around 5:13 p.m. and reportedly demanded money.

Employees handed over cash to the suspects, who were in the restaurant for a “very brief time,” Nevara said. Police said the suspects were seen fleeing north on Douglas in a dark-colored SUV or minivan. According to police reports, the duo made off with more than $500.

Nevara said no weapon was displayed in the incident, and the suspects did not threaten the employees. No customers were in the restaurant at the time.

According to Nevara, the suspects are described as black men, one described as 6 feet tall and thin, while the other is 5’9” or 5’10” and stocky.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Oswego Police Department at 630-551-7300 or Kendall County Crimestoppers at (630) 553-5999.

The Subway incident comes a day after a pair of masked men brandishing screwdrivers reportedly robbed the Marathon Gas Station at Route 25 and Boulder Hill Pass. Another armed robbery was reported on Dec. 23 when the Gas Mart USA, 2501 Light Road, was reportedly held up at gunpoint. Those incidents are being investigated by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department.
