School District 308 announced the December winners of its PRIDE (Proudly Recognizing Individuals Demonstrating Excellence) Recognition Program at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, Jan. 11.

December’s teachers of the month are Oswego East High School Kinetic Wellness Teacher and Assistant Athletic Director Jeremy Hillman, and Southbury Elementary School fourth grade teacher Noor Shammas.

Employees of the month are Oswego East High School Principal Secretary Felicia Snow and School District 308 Transportation Secretary Debra Simpson.

Volunteers of the month are April Nowak and Les Lopinot, Homestead Elementary School.

The PRIDE program allows the Board of Education to formally recognize the efforts of teachers, employees and volunteers who are engaged in exceptional work across School District 308.

Each month, the program recognizes two individuals from three separate categories: teachers, employees and volunteers. A committee made up of various district groups and organizations selects the winners, and committee members serve six-month terms.

If you know someone deserving of the award, you can nominate him or her using the link on School District 308’s website or via mail. Details for the nomination process are also listed on the website. Any School District 308 colleague, administrator, student, parent, community member or alumnus can make the nomination. Self-nominations are not accepted.
