Stolen Car Set on Fire: Police

Christopher Miller, 32, of Montgomery was arrested for speeding 35 mph over the speed limit after Kendall County Sheriff's deputies clocked him traveling 100 mph in a 55 mph zone along Route 71 near Sleepy Hollow Road at about 2:50 a.m. Jan. 19, according to a sheriff's office report.
A 16-year-old Oswego boy was arrested for speeding more than 45 mph over the limit at about 12:45 p.m. Jan. 17 near Orchard and Mill roads, according to an Oswego Police report.
A resident in the 2000 block Light Road reported to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office that someone tried to cash two of his checks for a total of $48,000. The checks were returned for insufficient funds, and the victim identified a possible suspect in the case.
Kevin Izurieta, 19, of Plano, was arrested for DUI at about 10:45 p.m. Jan. 15 near Route 34 and Jefferson Street, according to an Oswego Police report.
Car set on fire
Kendall County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a stolen car that was set on fire at about 6:15 a.m. Jan. 13 in the 0-99 block of Commerce Drive. The car was reported stolen out of Harvey, IL. There were no injuries, police said.
Oswego Police responded to a job site in the 100 block of Meadows Court at about 8:30 a.m. Jan. 12 for a report of several tools being taken from a job site. The tools are valued at about $1,500 police said.
