Oswego police are investigating an alleged armed robbery after a 19-year-old reported being robbed by a man he met in the parking lot of a business on Wednesday night.

The teen told police he had arranged to meet with the man at 10:30 p.m. in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Orchard Road near Lewis Street.

The man then reportedly robbed the teen, who was not hurt in the incident, police said. The 19-year-old called police about an hour after the incident.

Police did not disclose what type of weapon was displayed in the alleged robbery or why the teen had arranged to meet the man, but said the incident remains under investigation.

“It is believed to be an isolated incident and at this time there is no indication that the public is in danger,” spokeswoman Cathy Nevara said in a press release.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Oswego Police Investigations Division at 630-551-7300.
