The Oswegoland Optimist Club has announced the winners of the annual Optimist Club Essay Contest.

The essay contest is sponsored by the Oswegoland Optimist Club to give young people the opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live. The students were encouraged to contemplate the phrase "Lead By Example-Reality or Fiction".

The approach can encompass a young person's personal experience, the experience of their country or a more historical perspective. Many thought provoking, enlightening, and very well written essays were entered by local students.

The first place winner of this year's contest, Callista Morgan, will advance to the district level contest, where she will compete for a $2500 scholarship.
