Spring has sprung in the wild terrain of Saw Wee Kee Park.
The Oswegoland Park District’s first Saw Wee Kee Spring Trail Run Challenge will be on Saturday April 16. Start your spring with a beautiful run or walk through the trails of Saw Wee Kee. The distance of this chip-timed race is just over three and a half miles.
Participants will enjoy spectacular views of the Fox River, as they twist and turn their way through the park. The race is considered a challenge because portions of this wild course have quick roller coaster hills that when combined with spring rains can be quite muddy.
The soft path makes for a great all natural run for beginners and advanced runners. Runners and walkers can choose to begin anytime between 4:00-5:00 P.M. The race will conclude with race apparel, post race hot dog and a drink.
The Saw Wee Kee Spring Trail Run Challenge is the first race in the Oswego Triple Race Series. Earn the Oswego Triple Race Medal in 2016 by completing three of four athletic events hosted by the Oswegoland Park District.
Any registered participant who finishes in three of the following races; Saw Wee Kee Spring Trail Run Challenge (April 16), PrairieFest 5K (June 19), I Tried A Triathlon (August 7), or the Gobbler Hobbler 10K (November 13) earns the coveted award. So make a goal to cross the finish lines in Oswego this year, and collect both the glory and the gold!
