Oswego Police Issue Seat Belt, Phone Tickets

Mar 29, 2016 11:13AM ● Published by Steven Jack

The Oswego Police Department handed out 38 seat belt citations during its recent St. Patrick's Day enforcement campaign.

The extra enforcement was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation, and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.

In addition to the seatbelt violations, Oswego Police also issued 17 citations for driving while using a cellphone. No drivers were found to be under the influence during the crackdown, police said.
