A Boulder Hill man is facing several child pornography charges, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

According to Sheriff's Office Detective Bryan Harl, Thomas Randall, 63, of the 0-99 block of Pomeroy Road, was arrested Monday on several counts of child pornography possession after a three-month investigation.

Harl said the Sheriff's Office received information in late January that Randall was suspected to be in possession of child pornography. Detectives then conducted a criminal investigation with the assistance of the Attorney General's Office and the Department of Homeland Security.

Detectives executed a search warrant on Randall's home Monday and evidence was located, Harl said. The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged him with 12 counts of possession of child pornography, four of which are Class X felonies, two are Class 1 felonies, five are class 2 felonies, and 1 is a Class 3 felony.

Randall was taken into custody at his home without incident, and is being held in the Kendall County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
