Oswego Police are investigating two residential burglaries that occurred during the early evening Wednesday off Plainfield Road.
According to police reports, a home in the 400 block of Arboretum Way was broken into sometime between 6:30 and 8 p.m. About $1,000 in miscellaneous items were stolen, police said.
In a second nearby incident, a home in the 200 block of Morgan Valley Drive was broken into during the same timeframe. More than $500 in items were reported stolen in that case, police said.
Oswego Police Chief Jeff Burgner said the burglaries appear to be related, and forced entry was gained to the homes in the rear through a window and door.
Online reports of a possible third burglary in Lakeview Estates, were unfounded, Burgner said, as were reports of one of the burglaries being interrupted by the homeowners.
There is no suspect information at this time. Officers will be in the area Thursday searching for additional evidence, and police will increase patrols this evening, Burgner said.
