Resident Scammed in Internet Dog Purchase: Police

DUI

Catherine Rodriguez, 31, of Oswego, was arrested for DUi at about 4:20 a.m. April 24 near Route 34 and West Street, according to an Oswego Police report. 

DUI

Jeffrey Richter, 43, of Oswego, was arrested for DUI at about 10 p.m. April 24 near Chicago Road and Route 71, according to an Oswego Police report. 

Domestic battery

Shaine Triplett, 29, of Oswego, was arrested for domestic battery at about 12:50 a.m. April 24 at his home int he 600 block of Madison Street, according to an Oswego Police report. 

Pot possession

Rickie Hopkins, 21, of 1315 Royal Drive, Montgomery, was arrested for marijuana possession at about 12:10 a.m. April 24 near Douglas Road and Season Ridge, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. Hopkins was originally stopped for expired vehicle registration and was found to be in possession of marijuana and illegal fireworks, the sheriff's office said. He was also arrested for illegal transportation of alcohol.  

Speeding

Johnathan Biniecki, 18, of Oswego, was arrested for speeding more than 35 mph over the limit at about 9:15 p.m. near Schlapp and Johnson roads, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. He was clocked driving 97 mph in a 55 zone, the sheriff's office said.

Fraud in dog purchase

An Oswego man reported that he was scammed out of $550 after paying for a dog online, according to an Oswego Police report. The man reported never receiving the dog to Oswego police at about 11:30 a.m. April 21.

Criminal trespass 

Zackary Cherry, 24, was arrested for criminal trespass at about 9 a.m. April 21 in the 7000 block of Old Grove Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. Cherry had been warned to stay off the property, but did not comply, the sheriff's office said. 

Child endangerment

Juanita Espinosa, 22, of Aurora was arrested for endangering the life and health of a child at about 6 p.m. April 20 in the 2000 block of Route 30, according to an Oswego Police report. 

Stolen vehicle

A Maple Park woman reported her vehicle was stolen while it was parked in the 1700 block of Route 34 in Oswego sometime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.. April 19, according to an Oswego Police report. Police continue to investigate.

DUI

Early Johnson Jr., 27, of Joliet, was arrested for DUI at about 1 a.m. April 17 in the 2000 block of Plainfield Road after a rollover crash, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report.  No other drivers were involved, and Johnson was treated at the scene and then arrested for DUI.
