School District 308 announced the April winners of its PRIDE (Proudly Recognizing Individuals Demonstrating Excellence) Recognition Program at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 9.

April’s teachers of the month are Prairie Point Elementary School third grade teacher Lisa Paluch and early childhood teacher Alicia Hansen from Brokaw Early Learning Center.

Employees of the month are Homestead Elementary School teacher assistant Christine Adams and District Administrative bus driver Ronald Newcomer.

Volunteers of the month are Fran Hutton, The Wheatlands Elementary School and Thompson Junior High School student Steve Watts who volunteers for “Jo’s Reading Circle”.

The PRIDE program allows the Board of Education to formally recognize the efforts of teachers, employees and volunteers who are engaged in exceptional work across School District 308.

Each month, the program recognizes two individuals from three separate categories: teachers, employees and volunteers. A committee made up of various district groups and organizations selects the winners, and committee members serve six-month terms.

Nominations for the 2015-16 school year are no longer being accepted. The PRIDE Program will resume at the start of the 2016-17 school year.
