Kyle Mazzocchi and Gabrielle Corrao receive their scholarships from Oswego Fire Protection Assistant Chief John Cornish.

The Oswego Fire Protection District scholarships are given to honor a member of the Fire District that has shown exemplary service to the people of the communities we serve.

This year, Retired Fire Chief Rick Neitzer was honored. He dedicated his life to serving people of the District in a variety of capacities. He served as a firefighter for over 35 years. He truly dedicated his life to his community and the Fire District.

Two local High School Seniors were chosen to receive the scholarships. Recent Graduates Kyle Mazzocchi and Gabrielle Corrao both were chosen from a pool of applicants for this year's scholarships. Each scholarship is $500 to be used for a college or university of the winner's choice.

Gabrielle plans on attending a four year college and pursuing a degree in Nursing. We wish her the best of luck. Kyle plans on attending a local college and pursuing a degree in Fire Science. We wish Kyle the best in his future endeavors.
