Independence Day means relaxation, celebration, and… competition! This Fourth of July join the Oswegoland Park District and creative minds from around the area for the 1st annual Red, White and Pool Recycle Regatta.
On the afternoon of Monday, July 4 engineers and inventors will test their boat-building skills in the Civic Center Aquatic Park, 5 Ashlawn Avenue, Montgomery. Boats will prove their worth on the high seas of the park district pool.
Ingenuity will be required in order to construct water-crafts using duct tape & only these items: one milk jug, two cereal boxes, three paper towel rolls, four plastic water bottles, and five soda cans.
Prizes will be given in a variety of categories. Boats hit the water at 2pm.
Each entry costs $5, plus pool admission for inventor and any crew. The Civic Center Aquatic Park will be open on Independence Day from 11:30am – 5pm. Daily Admission costs are $8, while children under 2 are free.
