Oswego Fire Protection District firefighters quickly extinguished a fire that began at about midnight July 4.

According to an OFPD media release, firefighters were called to the 100 block of Laurie Lane at about midnight for a report of a fire on the back of the home.

When they arrived firefighters found a neighbor spraying the fire with a garden hose. Firefighters then doused the fire with 10 gallons of water from an extinguisher.

There were no injuries in the fire, and about $10,000 in damage was done.

The OFPD said an investigation revealed that fireworks were possibly the cause of the fire.
