U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) has announced six students from Illinois’ 14th Congressional District have been selected to attend the United States military service academies.
The students reported to their respective academies July 1. Hultgren hosted the selected students at a formal reception at his Campton Hills District Office.
Factors like academic achievements, strong character, leadership skills, physical aptitude and exceptional motivation are taken into consideration for service academy selection.
“I am incredibly proud of each of these six students who represent strong moral and academic character of the 14th District of Illinois,” Hultgren said. “Their stories are impressive which is why I am proud to nominate ambitious individuals to humbly serve our nation and be educated at such exceptional institutions. Their commitment to our nation should be commended.”
