A 24-year-old Yorkville woman is facing several charges, including driving under the influence of drugs, after an accident at Harvey and Wolf's Crossing roads late Thursday afternoon.
According to Oswego Police spokeswoman Cathy Nevara, at about 4:50 p.m. Francine Patton ran into the back of a car driven by a 71-year-old Plainfield woman that was stopped at southbound Harvey Road at Wolf's Crossing.
Patton's vehicle then careened into a nearby utility pole and ended up in the ditch. A 24-year-old Yorkville man who was a passenger in Patton's car was extricated by emergency personnel and transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center for treatment, Nevara said.
A third driver, 39-year-old Plainfield woman, also ended up in a nearby ditch after attempting to avoid the accident, Nevara said.
Rush hour traffic around the accident was re-routed for more than hour, causing delays.
Patton was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. She was released after posting bond and was given an Aug. 24 court date.
