Car Stolen from Grocery Store Parking Lot: Police

Car theft

A woman told police her vehicle was stolen from the Aldi parking lot, 540 Fifth St., sometime between 6:50 and 7:20 p.m. Aug. 6, Oswego Police said. The victim was leaving the grocery store when she discovered the vehicle was missing from its parking spot, police said.  

Park vandalized 

Someone broke the window on a pavilion restroom Aug. 6 at Prairie Point Park, 4120 Plainfield Road, according to Oswego Police. 

Bench damaged 

Someone damaged a bench at East View Elementary School, 4209 Route 71, sometime on Aug. 5, according to an Oswego Police report. 

GPS stolen 

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Aug. 4 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 5 in the 100 block of Charles Court. A GPS was stolen from the vehicle, police said.

Battery arrest

Shara Tolliver, 18, of the 700 block of Bonaventure Drive, Oswego, was arrested on a charge of battery at 10:13 p.m. in the 300 block of Ogden Falls Boulevard, according to an Oswego Police report. 

Assault, defacing property

Matthew Craig Duvall, 34, of the 100 block of Afton Drive in Boulder Hill, was arrested by Kendall County Sheriff’s police at 3 a.m. Aug. 5 on charges of assault and criminal defacement of property, according to a police report. Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence incident in which Duvall allegedly defaced the property of a family member and then assaulted him, police said. Police previously responded to a report of domestic violence and criminal property damage at the home at 1:08 a.m. Aug. 4, but no complaints were signed at that time, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report.

Water stolen from vacant home

The Kendall County Sheriff’s office is investigating the theft of more than 57,000 gallons of water stolen from a vacant home in the 0-100 block of Hampton Road in Boulder Hill, police said. The victim told deputies the water was used between Jan. 15 and May 13, according to a police report. 

Man injured in crash

A 23-year-old man was taken to Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora following a two-vehicle crash at 4:27 p.m. Aug. 4 at Roth and Wolf roads, Oswego police said. 

Tractor-trailer hits cable line

Oswego Police responded to Roth and Wolf roads at 2:02 p.m. Aug. 4 after a tractor-trailer struck a low cable line. No injuries were reported, police said.

Identity theft

A 64-year-old Oswego woman said someone used her identity without her permission, according to Oswego Police. 

Stolen bicycle 

Someone stole a bicycle from an open garage in the 600 block of Pearces Ford sometime before 3:27 p.m. Aug. 4, according to Oswego Police.

Hit and run

Oswego Police took a report of a hit and run crash at 1:54 p.m. Aug. 3 at Route 71 and Forest Avenue, police said.

Someone hit a vehicle in the 2000 block of Route 34 and left the scene, according to an Oswego Police report.

Vehicle burglary

Oswego Police are investigating a burglary to an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of Cascade Lane that was reported at 12:20 p.m. Aug. 1, according to a police report. 

DUI arrest

Jair Hernandez, 40, of the 100 block of Campbell Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested by Oswego Police at Wolf and Harvey roads at 2:14 a.m. on a charge of DUI, police said.

Unlawful consumption, speeding 

Samuel Gomez, 20, of the 300 block of Center Street, Plano, was arrested at 2:45 a.m. July 31 at Route 34 and Chesterfield Drive on charges of unlawful possession of alcohol, unlawful consumption of alcohol and speeding, Oswego Police said.

Stolen vehicle 

Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the theft of a vehicle reported stolen at 11:26 p.m. July 30 at the Sunshine Motel, 1174 Route 30 in unincorporated Kendall County. The victim told deputies an acquaintance took his car and his cell phone without his permission, according to a police report. 

Phone stolen from car 

A victim in the 1800 block of Light Road told Kendall County Sheriff’s police that someone entered his vehicle on July 30 and stole his cell phone, according to a police report.
