Officials with the Kane County Coroner's Office have released the name an Oswego man who passed away after a motorcycle crash in Batavia late last week.

According to police, Justin Speer, 20, died after colliding with a car driven by a 16-year-old North Aurora girl at about 8:20 p.m Thursday near the intersection of Randall Road and Main Street in Batavia.

Speer was rushed to Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva where he was pronounced dead a short time later. No citations have been issued at this time. An autopsy was performed on Friday, and the cause of death was listed as "multiple injuries," according to the coroner's office.

Speer was a 2014 graduate of Oswego High School where he played football. He was also an employee of Keith's Car Care in Oswego.

"His sense of humor, his spirit, and especially his friendship will be missed by everyone," wrote owner Keith Wolff on the shop's Facebook page.

According to an obituary listing with Dunn Family Funeral Home, a gathering is planned for 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 1801 S. Douglas Road.
