Check Fraud Reported at Oswego Business: Police

Mauro Alberto Vasquez-Ojeda, 39, of the 2100 block of Light Road, was arrested on charges of DUI and improper lane use following a one-vehicle crash at around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 14 in the 5000 block of Route 34, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
Oswego Police are investigating a retail theft reported Aug. 13 at GameStop, 2948 Route 34.
Theft from garage
Vehicle parts, a radio-controlled vehicle and tools were reported stolen from a garage in the 0-100 block of Stonehill Road sometime between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 11:30 a.m. Aug. 13, according to an Oswego Police report.
Donald A. Cox, 58, of the 600 block of River Street, Aurora, was arrested at 9:01 am. Aug. 13 at Route 30 and Douglas Road on a warrant and charge of criminal trespassing to land, Oswego Police said.
Damage to vehicle
A vehicle was reported damaged in the 300 block of Dorchester Court on Aug. 12, Oswego Police said.
A resident reported that someone entered a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 0-100 block of Bereman Road on Aug. 12 and stole a wallet that was inside the vehicle, police said. There was no forced entry to the vehicle at the time of theft, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office police report.
Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an alleged identity theft after an unincorporated Kendall County woman reported that an unknown male subject was attempting to use her signature.
Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating damage to the rear right window of a home in the 0-100 block of Wyndham Drive in Boulder Hill on Aug. 11, according to a police report.
Oswego Police are investigating a battery committed by two suspects against a 17-year-old female at 11 p.m. Aug. 10 in the 2500 block of Route 34, police said.
Oswego Police responded to a report of an iPad stolen from a classroom at Old Post Elementary, 100 Old Post Road, sometime between Aug. 9 and Aug. 10, according to a police report. The iPad’s estimated value is $400, police said.
Trespassing to home
Rudolph Plumley, 22, of the 3700 block of Minkler Road, Yorkville, was arrested by Oswego police Aug. 10 in the 100 block of Franklin Street and charged with criminal trespassing to a residence, police said.
Two injured in crash
Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Plainfield Road and Simons Road at 8:20 p.m. Aug. 9, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies. Timothy S. Garbaciak, 25, of the 10000 block of Austen Court, Mokena, was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and refused medical treatment for an injury to his left forearm, police said. A 28-year-old Plainfield woman was taken to Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora for injuries she suffered in the accident, according to a police report.
Hit and run
Kendall County deputies are investigating a hit and run crash reported Aug. 8 in the 0-100 block of Hampton Road, police said. The owner of a Buick Encore said the vehicle was parked on the road in front of his home overnight when it was struck in the rear bumper by another vehicle, according to a police report.
Oswego Police responded to a hit and run at 2:27 p.m. Aug. 10 at Oswego East High School, 1525 Harvey Road, police said. An unknown vehicle struck a vehicle parked in the parking lot and did not provide information for the victim. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Oswego Police at 630-551-7300, police said.
Several items were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 0-100 block of Ashlawn Avenue in Boulder Hill between 1:30 an 3:30 a.m. Aug. 4, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
A 20-year-old Aurora woman reported a domestic battery in the 2700 block of Route 34 on Aug. 8, Oswego Police said.
Property damage, burglary
A juvenile was arrested by Oswego Police Aug. 7 on charges of criminal damage to property and burglary, police said.
Minor injury crash
Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash at Briarcliff Road and Bereman Road at 2:42 p.m. Aug. 7. A 48-year-old Boulder Hill man was transported to Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora with minor injuries, according to a police report.
The rear window was broken out of a parked vehicle in the 600 block of Roosevelt Drive, according to an Oswego Police report.
Someone used a fraudulent checking account to purchase tools worth $509.94 on Aug. 2 at Ace Hardware, 4500 Route 71, Oswego Police said.
