Oswego Beats & Eats to Include Selection of Craft Beers

Aug 26, 2016 03:45PM ● Published by Steven Jack

In addition to great music, food and the Market on Main vintage fair, Saturday's Oswego Beats and Eats event will include some limited edition craft beers for sale. All beers will be first-come, first served.

Earlier this week organizers began releasing the names of the available beers. Here's a rundown of what what you can expect.

REVOLUTION BREWING OKTOBERFEST A classic German-style Oktoberfest beer that goes down smooth with a pleasant, toasty malt flavor. 100% German malts create a supple and flavorful base for this traditional Oktoberfest lager. Our 2015 version is brewed with a hop called Hallertau Gold, grown on only one farm in the whole of Bavaria to deliver a hop profile which is at the same time both classic and unique. ABV 5.7%

REVOLUTION BREWING EUGENE PORTER A striking, robust porter full of warmth and chocolate malt. Eugene is a robust porter named after Eugene V. Debs, an American union leader and activist who led the Pullman Railroad strike in 1894. An assortment of Belgian specialty malts form a complex structure of toasted grain and caramel flavors. Dark chocolate malt makes this porter black as night and infuses it with its distinct intense, chocolate essence. ABV 6.8%

EXIT STRATEGY AMERICAN PALE ALE American hops are front and center here, but this beer won’t punch you in the face with bitterness. Rather ES accentuates hop flavor and aroma while balancing malt and hops. Brewed and dry hopped with Ahtanum, Amarillo, Cascade, Citra and Simcoe hops. ABV 5.5%

WHITE CLAW NATURAL LIME A crisp, clean spiked sparkling water with notes of natural juicy lime for a taste that’s timelessly refreshing. Minimal sweetness. No aftertaste. Just pure, dry hard seltzer with the slightest zest of lime. Ingredients: Purified carbonated water, alcohol from cold-brewed sugar, natural cane sugar, citric acid, natural key lime juice, natural lime flavor, sodium citrate. 5.0 % ABV

WHITE CLAW BLACK CHERRY Subtle yet unmistakable cherry flavor meets dry yet refreshing hard seltzer. The result? Crisp, clean spiked sparkling water with minimal sweetness and no aftertaste - just a light hint of deliciously dark black cherry. Ingredients: Purified carbonated water, alcohol from cold-brewed sugar, natural cane sugar, citric acid, natural flavors, natural cherry juice concentrate, sodium citrate. 5.0% ABV

ALARMIST PHOBOPHOBIA PATERBIER A very easy drinking beer based on the traditional Belgian "Patersbier", which means "Father’s beer" in Dutch. Traditionally brewed by Trappist monks for their own consumption during meals (or when no one was looking). Light, refreshing. Think of it as a monk’s table beer. Simple recipe of German Pilsner malt, German acidulated malt, and saaz hops. 4.8 % ABV

Scorched Earth Brewing Sweetie Pie Here’s a sour beer we hope you both can enjoy, no matter what moods you’re in – a Strawberry Rhubarb Gose. Delicate, fresh-cut strawberry aromas tickle the senses after the initial pour. Tart, rhubarb mingles with flavors of light strawberry, pie crust, and lacto sourness. Pink Himalayan sea salt adds salinity to the beer’s finish, drawing you back into the glass. Strawberries from Heider’s Berry Farm in Woodstock, and rhubarb grown from a family garden in Marengo were used to craft this sour beer. Won 2nd Place Medal at Midwest Brewers Fest (2015). ABV 4.2%

Leinenkugel Brewing Crisp weiss beer with natural pumpkin spice flavor. Satisfy your thirst for autumn with our Leinenkugel’s® Harvest Patch® Shandy. It’s our traditional weiss beer with natural pumpkin spice flavor to give you notes of nutmeg, allspice and clove for a refreshing fall seasonal. It’s crisp and smooth, just like a perfect fall day on the Leinie Side. ABV 4.2%

For those that prefer wine, Copa Di Vino Wine and Fox Valley Winery Sangria will also be served.
