Oswegoland Optimist Club Looking for a Little More Help This Christmas

The Oswego Toys for Tots program works in partnership with the Oswegoland Optimist Club Family Christmas Project to help provide toys to families in need each Christmas.
The Family Christmas Project is the club's biggest undertaking of the year, and this year even more local families are in need of support. Each year The Club works with School District 308 to find families in need. They then pair families up with sponsors who purchase gifts, clothing and food to ensure a delicious holiday meal. The Club also partners with the Oswego Toys for Tots drive to collect additional toys.
"The number of families and children increases every year, and the Optimist Club works very hard to provide for all of them. The committee that orchestrates this project, begins months in advance to assure that as much as possible is done for as many as possible," the club said in an announcement on its website.
Those that wish to "adopt" a family will receive a wish list from which to purchase gifts. Those that adopt families are encouraged to spend only what they are comfortable with.
Those that would like to adopt a family should email firstname.lastname@example.org
All gifts should be gift-wrapped with name tags. Drop-off to the families will occur Saturday, Dec. 17, and volunteers will be needed for deliveries.
