Thief Hits Tobacco Store Clerk: Police

Retail theft
Angelica L. Finley, 18, of 401 Lakeshore Drive, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. Nov. 20 at Shell, 160 Douglas Road, on a charge of retail theft, Oswego Police said.
Hit and run
A vehicle struck another at 1:35 p.m. Nov. 19 at Route 34 and Pearces Ford Drive, causing a chain-reaction crash involving four other vehicles, before driving away, according to Oswego Police, who are investigating the hit and run.
John L. Meader, 42, of the 1600 block of Light Road, was cited by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office for leaving the scene of an accident after striking a gas pump at Citgo, 2501 Light Road, at 4:58 a.m. Nov. 16, police said.
Woman, 4-year-old hurt in crash
A vehicle rear-ended another vehicle at 11 a.m. Nov. 17 at Route 126 and Minkler Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. The driver -- a 29-year-old Yorkville woman -- and a 4-year-old passenger were transported to an area hospital for injuries, police said. The woman was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to police.
A Montgomery woman reported that an unknown individual cashed a check over $500 without her permission, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
Domestic battery
A male juvenile was arrested for domestic battery at 11:58 p.m. Nov. 17 in the 300 block of Persimmon, Oswego Police said.
Theft, battery
At 2:03 p.m. Nov. 16, an unknown subject stole items and battered an employee who attempted to apprehend him at D&S Tobacco N More, 2757 Route 34, according to Oswego Police. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Oswego Police at 630-551-7300.
Public indecency
Christopher L. Heraty, 26, of 164 Preakness Drive, was arrested by Oswego Police at 4:45 p.m. Nov. 15 at Kohl’s, 2500 Route 34, and charged with public indecency, police said.
Brake lines cut
A resident in the 100 block of Heathgate Road reported that someone cut the brake lines to his vehicle at around 12 a.m. Nov. 15, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

Pedestrian hit
A 19-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, suffering minor injuries, while crossing the street at Route 71 and Route 34 at 7:04 a.m. Nov. 14, Oswego Police said. No citations were issued, according to police.
Property damage
Five aluminum soffits were damaged between Nov. 11 and Nov. 14 at Oswegoland Park District’s Winrock Park, 21 Winrock Road, police said. The incident is under investigation by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
DUI, hit and run
Angel Martin Leal, 21, of the 400 block of Blueridge Drive, was arrested by Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies at 1:45 a.m. Nov. 12 on Wolf Road west of Douglas Road following a rollover accident, police said. When deputies responded to the crash, Leal was no longer on the scene but was located shortly afterward, according to police. After receiving medical treatment at Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora, Leal was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license, police said.
Tara L. Schlitz, 28, of 895 Canyon Trail, Yorkville, was arrested by Oswego Police at 5:38 p.m. Nov. 13 at Washington and Main streets on charges of DUI and improper lane use, police said.
Obstructing a peace officer
Steven Matthew Belinski, 38, who is listed as homeless, was arrested at 6:59 a.m. Nov. 13 in the 5000 block of Schlapp Road after police said he was observed lying in the roadway wrapped in a blanket, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. After deputies responded to the incident, Belinski refused to provide his personal information and to follow lawful orders from deputies, police said. He was charged with obstructing a peace officer and issued a citation for being a pedestrian in a roadway, according to police.
