Oswego Man Arrested for Resisting Arrest: Police

An Oswego man was arrested Monday after Oswego Police said he pushed an officer in an attempt to avoid arrest.

According to police spokeswoman Cathy Nevara, police were called to the 100 block of Washington Street in downtown Oswego at about 11:45 a.m. for a report of a man damaging several items in a home. 

When officers attempted to arrest the man, he resisted and ran from them, pushing an officer in the process, He was caught a short time later after a Taser was used, Nevara said. 

Joseph Sova, 34, of 76C W. Washington St., was charged with criminal damage to property, resisting arrest and cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The damaged items were valued at more than $300, Nevara said.
