Thief Steals Car, Leaves Bike Behind: Police

Underage drinking, resisting
Justin D. Noel, 19, of the 200 block of Ashcroft Lane, was arrested by Oswego Police at 3:49 a.m. Dec. 3 on charges of consumption of alcohol by a minor, resisting officers and battery, according to police.
 
Hit and run
An unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the area of Manhattan Circle and Columbus Drive sometime the morning of Dec. 2, Oswego Police said.
 
An unknown vehicle struck a vehicle parked in the parking lot at 2540 Route 30 at 9:33 a.m. Dec. 1 and left the scene, Oswego Police said.
 
Retail theft
Danielle L. Retterer, 23, of the 0-100 block of Old Post, Montgomery, was arrested by Oswego Police at 7:46 p.m. Dec. 2 at Kohl’s, 2500 Route 34, on charges of felony retail theft and obstructing a peace officer, according to a police report.
 
Disorderly conduct
Two juveniles were arrested at 11:12 a.m. Dec. 2 in the 0-100 block of Franklin Street on charges of disorderly conduct, Oswego Police said.
 
Diamonds stolen
Oswego Police are investigating a report of a diamond pendant and diamond earrings stolen from a residence in the 500 block of Homeview Drive, police said. The jewels were valued at about $12,000 police said.
 
Pedestrian hit by car
A 46-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle backing out of a parking space at 3300 Orchard Road at 3:29 p.m. Nov. 30, Oswego Police said. The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital following the incident, according to a police report.
 
Leaving the scene
Jose L. Cano, 55, of the 400 block of LaSalle Street, was arrested by Oswego Police on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash after a two-vehicle accident near Target, 3020 Route 34, at 3:09 p.m. Nov. 27, police said.
 
Cash stolen from car
Oswego Police are investigating an alleged vehicle burglary in which $950 was stolen from a vehicle in a parking lot at 201 Ogden Falls Boulevard at 11:42 a.m. Nov. 27, police said.
 
Brake line cut
A resident of the 100 block of Heathgate, Montgomery, told Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies that someone cut the brake line on his vehicle between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 26, which was parked in front of the home, according to a police report.
 
Battery, intoxicated pedestrian
Deputies investigating an intoxicated person in the roadway at 4:21 p.m. Nov. 21 at Tealwood Road and Sonora Drive said the pedestrian, 57-year-old Nora Kathleen Thomas, 57, of the 600 block of River Street in Aurora, struck a deputy. Thomas was arrested for battery and cited for being an intoxicated person in the roadway, according to a police report.
 
Reckless driving, providing false information
Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a hit and run crash at 7:18 p.m. Nov. 25 in the 0-100 block of Hampton Road. During the course of an investigation, deputies found that Alejandro Cristobal, 30, of the 0-100 block of Paddock Road, was driving behind the vehicle of Janet Lopez, 32, of the 0-100 block of Spring Garden Drive, during a domestic dispute, police said. According to police, Alvarez crashed his vehicle into the back of Lopez’ vehicle, then attempted to get into Lopez’ driver’s side door while she fled the scene. Alvarez was cited/summoned for reckless conduct, reckless driving, following too close, providing false information for a crash report and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to a police report. Lopez was cited/summoned for driving on a revoked license and driving an uninsured vehicle, police said. Deputies continue to investigate the alleged filing of a false police report, according to the sheriff’s office.
 
DUI, hit and run
Jose Fernando Munoz, 24, of the 2000 block of Carriage Lane, Montgomery, was arrested on charges of DUI and hit and run after he allegedly struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle at 1:05 a.m. Nov. 24 and then fled on foot, police said. Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies located Munoz and placed him under arrested after conducting a field sobriety test, according to a police report.
 
Car stolen, bike left behind
A woman reported that her gray 2010 Ford Fusion was stolen at 10:10 a.m. Nov. 23 in the 0-100 block of Paddock Road after she started it to warm it up before leaving for work, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. The woman told police that she went back into her home for a few minutes and when she returned, the vehicle was gone, and a white and light blue Mongoose mountain bike was left her front yard, police said. Investigators believe the bicycle was left behind by the car thief, according to the sheriff’s office.
