Head-on Crash Results in DUI Charges

Two drivers were transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in a head-on crash on Route 30 in Oswego on Wednesday evening.
According to Oswego Police, the male driver of an eastbound Nissan SUV crossed the center line near Treasure Drive and struck a westbound Chevy sedan driven by an Aurora woman at about 7:30 p.m.. The woman suffered serious injuries and had to be extricated from her vehicle.
Both were taken to Rush Copley Medical Center.
Route 30 was closed for approximately one hour during the investigation. No further information about the condition of either driver is available at this time, police said.
The male driver, identified as Brian E. Neupert, 51, of Boulder Hill, has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence and aggravated driving while license revoked, police said.
He was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police said. His court date is set for January 2017.
