Man Who Allegedly Threatened Oswego ‘Massacre’ Arrested Again: Police

A suspect armed with a gun stole cash boxes from an employee of Prairie State Gaming at 1:39 p.m. Dec. 16 at Mason Square Drive and Douglas Road, police said. The cash boxes and money were later recovered, according to Oswego Police, and detectives are investigating the incident. According to police, who said no further information is available on the incident, the robbery is believed to be an isolated incident and not a threat to the general public.
Michael Paredones, 29, of the 800 block of Church Street in Sandwich, was charged Dec. 16 with two counts of residential burglary in connection with a Nov. 11 burglary in the 800 block of Leisure Lane, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s police. Paradones’ bond was set at $50,000, according to a police report.
Car windows broken
Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 100 block of Harbor Drive at 7:07 a.m. Dec. 18 after someone shot out the back windows of three vehicles with a BB gun, police said.
Someone threw a beer bottle through the back window of a car parked in the 600 block of Otter Way at 9:50 a.m. Dec. 25, Oswego Police said.
Oswego Police are investigating a theft that occurred at 7-Eleven, 2. E. Merchants Drive, at 4:41 p.m. Dec. 18, police said.
Kelly L. Cosma, 35, of the 100 block of Kendall Drive, Yorkville, was arrested on a charge of retail theft at 8:10 p.m. Dec. 22 at Meijer, 2700 Route 34, according to Oswego Police.
Someone burglarized an unlocked vehicle in the 0-100 block of Sonora Drive and stole a black wallet, black iPod Touch and loose change at around 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office police report.
A witness reported seeing an unknown Hispanic male enter her unlocked vehicle at around 8:05 a.m. Dec. 23 in the 0-100 block of Hillstone Road, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. The man fled on foot after being confronted, the witness told police.
Someone entered an open garage then an unlocked vehicle sometime between Dec. 23 and 24 in the 800 block of Barton and stole a purse, according to an Oswego Police report.
Inmate allegedly batters deputy
Deputies responded to the Kendall County Jail, 1102 Cornell Lane, Yorkville, at 11 p.m. Dec. 22 after an inmate, 26-year-old Taylor James Cano, allegedly made unwanted physical contact with two corrections deputies and assaulted a third, police said. Cano – who is in custody after being shot and injured by police after allegedly threatening a “massacre” and firing a rifle at Oswego Police in 2015 – was charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery and one felony count of aggravated assault to corrections deputies, according to a police report. This is his third arrest since being incarcerated at the jail.
Hit and run
Someone struck a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 170 block of Rickard Drive at around 1 a.m. Dec. 24 before leaving the scene, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report.
Oswego Police are investigating a hit and run with minor injuries that occurred at 4 p.m. Dec. 24 at Route 34 and Douglas Road, police said.
Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of criminal damage to property in which a front door and screen were damaged at around 3:30 p.m. Dec. 25 in the 100 block of Harbor Drive, police said.
