Resident Taken for Thousands in Facebook Scam: Police

Lennie Williams, 45, of Montgomery, was arrested for domestic battery at about 11:30 a.m. Feb. 12 near Tewksbury Court and Chesterfield, according to an Oswego Police report.
Scammed on Facebook
A resident in downtown Oswego was the victim of a fraud perpetrated through Facebook, according to an Oswego Police report. The fraud was reported on Feb. 10, and the victim lost $4,450, police said.
A resident in the 400 block of Canterbury Court reported that their iPad and Illinois Link Card were stolen sometime before noon Feb. 9, according to an Oswego Police report. The value of the items are estimated at $650.
Oswego Police reported three males are suspects in spray paint that was left on a sidewalk near Monroe and Jackson streets at about 3:10 p.m. Feb. 6. Oswego Police spokeswoman Cathy Nevara said this incident is not believed to be related to the other recent incidents of downtown graffiti.
Shed broken into
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shed that was damaged and broken into sometime before 12:50 p.m. Feb. 6 in the 0-99 block of Fernwood Road. There are suspects in the case, the sheriff's office said.
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of shots fired at about midnight Feb. 5 in the 100 block of Harbor Drive. There are currently no suspects.
Oswego Police are investigating a forgery that occurred sometime before 6 p.m. Feb. 2. An Aurora man said two checks were written on his account for a loss of bout $300.
Vonshaye Young, 24, of Oswego, was arrested for domestic battery and criminal damage to property at about 9:30 a.m. Jan. 31 at her home in the 5700 block of Route 34, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office.
Tabitha White, 34, of Champaign, was arrested for possession of cocaine and cocaine paraphernalia items at about 11:50 p.m. Jan. 30 after a traffic stop in near Route 31 and Mill Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report.
A resident in the 100 block of George Lane reported someone broke into their car and stole various items sometime before 3 a.m. Jan. 29, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office.
