Funding Secured for Oswego Vietnam Moving Wall Fireworks Display

The Oswego Village Board of Trustees has announced that the additional $5,000 for the fireworks show to commemorate the Closing Ceremony of the Vietnam Moving Wall on July 3rd has been secured.

Spearheaded by the efforts of Trustees Joe West and Judy Sollinger, the funds were obtained through donations from the Oswego Fire Protection District, Oswego Firefighters Local 4773, M.K. Brummel Fine Remodeling and Building, Inc., as well as a donations from local residents. 

"I continue to be humbled by the generosity of our Oswego community. When it comes to honoring our veterans, Oswego is second to none," said Village President Gail Johnson.

The Fox Valley Veterans Breakfast Club will bring a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to Oswego in 2017. The Moving Wall, a half-size traveling monument will be on display in Prairie Point Community Park, 4120 Plainfield Road, from June 29 to July 3, 2017.           

Those wishing to make additional donations should direct the funds to The Vietnam Moving Wall Oswego, 515 Danbury Dr., Oswego, IL 60543. Any funds collected by the Village for the July 3rd show above the $5,000.00 will be donated to the Fox Valley Veterans Breakfast Club to assist in the fundraising for the Vietnam Moving Wall.
