Driver Who Tried to Switch Seats Arrested: Police

Matthew Chapman, 35, of the 400 block of Grapevine Trail, was arrested for assault at about 11 p.m. March 4 at his home, according to an Oswego Police report. Arrested for battery at the same time was Amanda Nedeleanu, 39 of Lockport, police said.
Pamela Laatz, 46, of the 100 block of Ashlawn Avenue, was arrested for domestic battery at about 11:10 p.m. March 4 at her home, according to an Oswego Police report.
Phone stolen in Walmart
A woman reported her mobile phone was stolen sometime before 5:30 p.m. March 3 after she mislaid it at the Oswego Walmart. After pinging the phone, police said it was located in Aurora. Oswego Police continue to investigate.
Sexual assault investigation
Oswego Police reported that they are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in December in the area of Farmington Lakes Drive and Springbrook Drive. The victim is said to be a juvenile from Aurora, police said. No other information was provided by police.
A business in the 0-99 block of Wolf Road reported that a rare piece of marble was stolen sometime before 10 p.m. March 1, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. The marble is valued at about $1,500, police said.
Jose Vargas, 35, of Aurora and Rita Famera, 35, of Montgomery were arrested for obstructing justice after attempting to switch car seats after being pulled over at about 8:20 p.m. Feb. 28 near Route 25 and Boulder Hill Pass, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. Vargas, who was driving at the time, was driving on a revoked driver's license and was also cited on that charge, the sheriff's office said.
