The Sun is Setting on Only Oswego

Friends, It's with some mixed emotions that I'm announcing that Only Oswego (the website) will cease operation Friday, April 7.
This has been one of the more difficult decisions that I've had to make, but it's time. After working too much for too long, time is the most important thing to me now.
As many might know, I've been working another full time job on top of Only Oswego since November 2015. As my children continue to grow and become more involved in activities, 60-65 hour weeks can no longer be sustain.
I've been working in community journalism in one way or another for about 30 years, and I'm kind of considering this my retirement from that. During those years, I figure I've covered more than 20 local elections, literally hundreds of government meetings and worked late into the night more times than I care to imagine.
None of the success of Only Oswego would have been possible without the support of my family, friends and the community that has formed around Only Oswego. If you've ever shared a link, commented on a story, bought an ad or given me a story tip, you have my sincere gratitude. I couldn't have done it without you.
I still plan to keep the Only Oswego Facebook page going. It's a community gathering place where people can have conversations, get questions answered and meet new friends.
My plan is to share stories and content that I come across from other sources around town like my friends at the Oswego Ledger, the Aurora Beacon News or The Voice.
I'll also be sharing posts from lots of other community sources too. I still want people to be engaged and informed, and I know many people have come to rely upon the page for information.
This message is too long now, and isn't meant to sound like a goodbye, because I plan on becoming even more involved in the community — just in different ways.
Thanks again, everyone. It's been amazing.
