Local Music Highlight: Sleazy Owl

Jun 20, 2018 10:07PM ● Published by Candice Carson James Dobson

I got my hands on a new album called Reloaded by Sleazy Owl, a band primarily out of Lisle and Oswego. They fit into a Rock/Blues/Metal genre, or sort of rock-meets-metal.  I loved the metal vibe and found it very reminiscent of Judas Priest.

There are three band members with a dedicated drive and passion for music.  Eric Ervin is on vocals and guitar, and he also plays studio drums/percussion.  Dana "Erv" Ervin contributes vocals and plays bass, and David Ramanauskas plays guitar and also sings vocals.

Their sound seems influenced by Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, AC/DC, and Steppenwolf.

I had the chance to speak with band member Eric Ervin after falling in love with the Reloaded album.  He mentioned that they would be emphasizing acoustic for a while.  Their music is available on iTunes, Bandcamp, and Spotify. Additionally, they sell hard copies of all their albums.  If you are interested in purchasing a CD, you can do so via their Facebook page.
